Even though John Force won his first IHRA World Championship on Saturday, it was a bitter pill to swallow. For more than two decades, he’s been the dominant force in American Hot Rod. Force lost the final round of the IHRA’s three-year championship on Saturday to Mike Garvey, despite having clinched the season title.

He said how important it is to stay on top of the curve, and he used the example of the way that he won championships by always being on top of the curve. He’s done that for so long that he’s the first one in line to get new parts and everything.
