When his father died, he had to care for his mother and sister. He was on welfare and food stamps, and was often homeless. His grandmother was poor and died when he was young. He was bullied in school and skipped many grades.

But, Jones’ childhood friendship with Zekey was at heart a religious one. He was raised as a Catholic by a single mother and told to come to church regularly as a kid, even though he skipped his way through school.

Career

In the beginning, I just wanted to have fun, but when I started getting more serious, I started looking for ways that I could stay relevant as a hip hop artist because there were so many people on the scene that were getting rich off of music.
