At the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Cup, Kessy and his team from Germany were eliminated in the round of 16 by the Brazilian team.

At the 2012 London Olympics, No. 4 seeds Ross and Kessy defeated a top seeded Brazilian team of Juliana and Larissa, winning the silver medal by dropping the first set.
