10 Success Lessons From Gordon Ramsay

Listen to them and make a lot of money.

Ramsay is known for not taking any sh*t when it comes to his restaurant business. If he thinks you’re not performing, then he will speak his mind and get you back on track.

Ramsay is successful because he does not accept no for an answer or settle for anything less than what he wants.

Gordon Ramsay’s Success Lessons

You know, Gordon Ramsay has done what many thought was impossible for him. He’s managed to make a successful restaurant empire while still being on TV.

1. Don’t Be Too Clever

So, what I’m saying is, you should be trying to make things clear, and if you want to be clever about it, make sure your cleverness matches the subject matter.

I was in Scotland once. I had a wonderful Scottish breakfast. It had about five different kinds of eggs, and it was absolutely delicious.
But then I went back to the same place, and they had the Scottish breakfast with loads of clever extras.
It was absolutely awful.
This is just like that.
The food isn’t so important, the people are the most important.

If you’re a blogger, you should definitely try and add a lot of different widgets because your website will be more likely to look pretty and you will get a lot of traffic because people will probably like your widgets.

The simplistic look of blogs is useful if you want to let people focus on your content more. However, if you’re trying to create a professional looking blog, you’ll need to stick with a more professional look.

2. Know Your Market

The concept is that food is meant to be shared with friends and family. In restaurants, it is meant to be shared with complete strangers. If you don’t want to share your food with a complete stranger, you shouldn’t open a restaurant.

You have to know what the market wants, and know what your customers want. This is the best strategy to use. With this you can make sure you make products that your customers will want.

3. Ask for Help When you Need it

There’s no point in not asking for help either because you’re too stubborn or too shy to do so. Even if you tell yourself you’ve got everything under control, believe me you don’t.

I don’t want to know about all those guys. I don’t need to know the guys who do that, I just want to know why you think you’re so special, you think you can do all this on your own.

It might help to look a bit closer at the problem first to see if you can find an easier solution.

In the business world, you should be working as a team to help each other and increase your productivity. If you’re stuck but don’t want to ask anyone, don’t be surprised if you are stuck for a long time.

4. Believe in What you are Doing. Find your Bollocks.

When working together with your team it’s essential to know your strengths and weaknesses. You won’t always be the best performer, the best designer, but you will always be the best in the room.

I don’t know how you can expect to succeed in what you’re doing if you don’t have the guts to have the willingness to have guts. The mindset is the biggest hurdle I’ve ever faced.

5. Don’t be Afraid to Talk to People

It is a great way to develop a network of people who are like minded. When you are trying to build a successful business you should be spending most of your time with people who are trying to build a successful business.

3. I am looking for opportunities to build relationships with people who have the same interests that I do.

This sounds good and all but the reality is that networking is all about being in the right place at the right time. You need to keep yourself in a position to be noticed and make other people notice you. This does not mean that you have to work out every morning on your abs or get yourself to the gym every day. It means rather that you keep yourself out there and put yourself out there so that others know that you are available when they need you.

6. Quality Can Never be Compromised

You really need to understand what your value is to people and what you bring to the world. If you’re just a copywriter, stop thinking of yourself as a copywriter, and start thinking of yourself as a writer.

In order to achieve the success and recognition you are seeking, it is important that you are able to build upon the experiences and mistakes that you’ve already made. Not being too concerned with consistently high quality, is where mistakes are made and people are left less satisfied, or even unsatisfied all together. Take the time to do the job properly, or do it again until you get it right.

7. Always Be Getting Better

You should be taking steps each day to improve yourself. This can be through exercise, reading books, taking classes, practicing a musical instrument, and so on. If you’re not improving, then you’re not trying to improve.

If there’s a way to make money, you should be more than willing to get started on finding it. Business has so many great ways to make money.
If you don’t want to get started with your business in the short term, it’s ok; just keep looking and it will happen when the time is right.

8. Always Communicate

A business without communication has been known to fail.

Even when someone is working in a high profile restaurant, there will always be people that try to take advantage of you. For example, let’s say you wanted to order a very expensive dish but you didn’t have all of the ingredients. They would find out and try to charge you a lot of extra money.

In this section you’re going to learn about the importance of having clear goals in your communication. By staying in the loop, you can always have a better idea of what’s going on around you and what it means to you.

9. Don’t Get Too Ambitious for Your Skills

Keep your audience at about 50% and your posts at about 100 a day. Remember that your audience will have time to go to comments, so try not to bore them. If you do end up posting more than 100 a day, your posts will become a bit repetitive.

Start with an existing account that is already gaining fans and followers. Then you can branch out and start to build new accounts across different networks.

I’d recommend starting with one and building on it, spending more time on it, becoming better and marketing with it, and then building a larger, more engaged audience.

So, the answer is the best of all three. Don’t spread yourself too thin, but also don’t be afraid to let yourself fall completely in love with one.

10. Addition by Subtraction

The law of diminishing returns shows that as we add more employees, the overall output of the company will go up until we reach a certain point where adding more and more employees just makes the company work slower than it did when they were fewer.

Gordon Ramsay would use the same rule. If you have an employee who’s not able to contribute enough to the job and ends up lowering the businesses productivity, get rid of them and lower your costs and increase your profits.

Summary

As long as you stay true to yourself and do what you love, nothing can stop you.
