The technological advances in the past couple of decades have been exponential.

Having children is hard to do because it’s boring to be with them on the floor while they’re children. They read Clifford the Big Red Dog to you at a rate of 50 minutes a page, and you have to sit there and be horribly proud and boring.

Comedy is going in a weird direction. People really like ironic comedy and fakeness and cleverness.

Comedians, being performers, can be great under pressure because they can go onstage and just try to have fun. Louis CK knows this, so he’ll tell comedians if they’re about to totally ruin their performance, then they can just relax and the jokes will flow out of them.

People like the government to be on their side and the people to be on their side. I guess that is why they voted for Donald Trump.

The way I wrote [Original] is not really wrong, but I don’t think it makes sense here.
I tried to say this in a simpler way:

When a person tells you that they were hurt, no matter why you told them that you were not responsible, you don’t get to decide that you didn’t.

Talking to people is beneficial, but when it comes to talking to yourself when you are alone, this will not happen, but when you are by yourself and your thoughts are flowing, you may begin to say whatever comes into your head.

After Tig Notaro opened last night at Largo, Louis spoke about how he is a fan of the comedian. He said it was his first time seeing her perform and she was “f***ing killing it”. When asked if he has seen her perform before, he said he has.

One thing I learned from drinking is that if you ever go around Christmas caroling, you should go with a group of people. And also go in mid-December.

Laughing at things is a healthy way to deal with stress.
In your future, whenever you’re feeling stressed, try and laugh at the negative thoughts going on in your mind.

I’m not sure I agree with Louis on this one. I feel that the comedian who takes his time to develop his stories and connect with you is the one who will have your respect. Comedians are very visual people. It is part of the reason why I love comedy so much.

What do you need to do before you look to see if your neighbor has enough? Don’t look at your neighbor. You don’t need to look. You’re ok.

Life isn’t something we can possess. It’s something we take part in. And you witness them, you are witness to it. We are witness to their lives. We are witness to their stories.

Louis CK said that the worst thing you can do in a comedy show is to make people laugh but not feel anything.

“New York to California in five hours, that used to take 30 years, a bunch of people used to die on the way there, have a baby, you would end up with a whole different group of people by the time you got there.” – Louis CK

This is Louis CK’s latest set of monologues, which I am going to include here, but I recommend watching his YouTube channel. I do recommend watching it, because a lot of it is really, really funny.

Louis CK is great.

You might not realize that because it feels like the glass is always full and sometimes you’ll be like “Ah this empty glass, it’s so empty!” But the glass is full. Like if you’re thirsty for water, even if there’s ice cubes, you can still drink the water out of the ice cubes because you need it. The ice cubes don’t have the ability to be thirsty, but the ice cubes are always full of ice.

Louis CK is not known for his humility. He is famous for telling audiences what’s what and talking to them like they are his peers. But as he’s not the biggest fan of stand-up comedy clubs or even just being interviewed he comes off as a bit brash. The reason he’s so great in his one-man show “Louie” is because he’s able to tell a story about his life. That’s why he uses stand-up to do other things. But he’s not afraid to speak his mind.

What’s interesting to me is, I grew up in the inner city. I’m the son of a Puerto Rican single mother from the Bronx, New York City. My dad was an immigrant from Italy. I’m the first in my immediate family to graduate college. So it’s a combination of the way I was brought up that shaped the way I grew up. And I can’t imagine being somebody else’s immigrant. And I can’t imagine growing up without knowing your culture and your people and where you came from. So that’s who I was, and I guess that’s a big part of why I do stand-up.

5. He is a master classer.

People talk about being “selfless” but that’s the opposite of being self-centric. The great achievement of having a child, is when you can take that central perspective out of your life. And you have the capacity to see the things that are more important than yourself, than your family, than your job, than your friendships, than your desires and your wants. If we could all do that, we’d be truly great people.

Louis CK was asked about his career for an article in the New York Times. He said that he’s not a genius, but that he’s good at comedy. He said that he’s a good citizen, loves his wife and family, and that he masturbates.

The way that I try to love other people is to try to do everything that I can to change things because if I don’t do that, I’m the one that’s going to get hurt in the end. I can’t imagine that life would be better for anyone if they would just be cruel. No one would be happy in that situation.

Louis C.K., who started rapping at a young age, is one of the best in the business. He is in a position to give advice to his fellow comic peers.

It’s the kind of thing that makes you realize how much you don’t really know yourself. You need to self-reflect once in a while.

I heard this on a Youtube video of a Christian saying, “Why don’t you stop talking like that so I can hear you?” I couldn’t help but think, “Well you shut up. You’re the one putting the earmuffs on.” I wish you could hear me because I like you.

Louis C.K. tells children to “cut a sandwich in half right when you get it” and has the first thought they should have be their own.

I have a 13-year-old female who leaves the house at 7:15 every morning and takes a smelly city bus to school way uptown. It is dark and she has a morning face. I send her out in the city bus to take a bus which is smelly, but I feel that I don’t want her to do that because that’s going to mess up her life. Her driver is sitting in a toasty Mercedes which will take her to work. I can afford a Mercedes, but I’m not going to be able to afford the bus.

I’ve learned that having good legs and endurance is good for being on stage. I had to be in shape and have endurance.

A lot of people, especially people in the South, have trouble with this. They equate the physical fullness of your belly with the emotional fullness of your life. They think you’re going to end up dead if you don’t get that meal. They think you’re going to end up as a fat, depressed person if you don’t get that meal.

So, instead of the meal being over when you’re full, it’s over when you hate yourself.

The comedian’s room is a writers’ room. He doesn’t have a team of writers pitching ideas, but is completely out of his mind.

The comedian says its not demeaning to victims if you ever to say anything out-loud about sexual abuse of children.

This is one of many examples of Louis CK’s sense of comedy which is often self-deprecating and self-aware. The point of his comic is to poke fun at his own personality and to use it as a lens to view the world.

At least, that’s how things start out for Louis C.K. He’s a man who, after much research, has discovered who he is, and then goes out and does something about it. He might have the idea of being a comedian in his bones, but he keeps on finding ways to be wrong. We can’t all find our way to who we are and the ways we’re like. But a good place to start, is by understanding what’s keeping us from being the people we’re supposed to be.

I did not make any kind of grades in high school. My mother was a single mom, putting my three sisters through college, and I was such a bad student that I knew I had no right to take her money. But I loved being in classes and learning. I took in a huge amount of what I learned, but I had a feeling of always being behind and being in trouble.

I’m not a fan of the current President of the United States, but Louis CK’s quote is a little more pertinent to our current political climate.

As you read the above, this might be hard for you to realize. Your son is being selfish and greedy without realizing it. Try thinking of him like an athlete and how in sport, you see players on the team make certain errors and the coach will coach up the team to avoid those mistakes when they happen. Your job is to encourage your son to be the best version of himself and avoid these errors from happening because of his selfishness and greed.

I never thought about it. I’ll have to start.

You spend time with your kids, because your kids need more time with you. It’s the only way for them to get to know you. And it’s not about being a guy. It’s about being a father. It’s about being there for them. That’s all it is.

I am trying to think about Louis CK’s statement in any other way than he is referring to heart disease. (I can’t.) I am going with his most obvious interpretation, and then trying to see if there is an extra-obvious interpretation that makes things more interesting.

Louis CK says that he laughs when he gets angry, but he is a professional comic. We should give him the benefit of the doubt, and he probably does get angry.

Life is difficult, but if we look back, we’ll find it difficult for good reasons. So, be kind to yourself. Don’t try too hard to understand why something happened. It’s going to make you sad, but it’s part of the process.
