 After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City,  Jane Margaret Lakes Harman has been in the business of acting as a professional actress for fifty years.

When she was 10 years old, she studied at the University of Michigan’s School of Education and became engaged in community activities. After serving in that capacity for six years, she was named chief of staff to the Secretary of Defense during the Carter administration.
