8 Productivity Books You Must Read To Be More Efficient

Many people just know that they are not as productive as they could be, and even as of recently, many people have had to face the reality that they’re not as productive as they could be. This realization can have a big impact on a person.

In other words, there is no truth.

I think changing your mindset is really the most important part of improving your productivity.

We’re going to have some systems that are going to help us get things done better. We’re going to have systems that allow us to be more productive and that we’re going to have to work on improving.

8 Productivity Books You MUST Read

And one of the things that I think is amazing about these books is not only that they have a lot of practical advice, but that they also have big ideas about what the world could be.

You might only need one book, but reading a few more books you have a better understanding of what you already learned in the book.

In this series we will look at the 8 books you must read in order to boost your productivity.

1. Getting Things Done: How to Achieve Stress-free Productivity by David Allen

Allen got all of his productivity methods from one of his professors who taught him that he, “needed to make himself less responsible, but also make his job more responsible.” He also learned that being busy does not equal creativity since many times, work that is done quickly can be just as bad as work done lazily.

the book identifies a system of workflow that is broken down into five stages: Pre-design, design, development, testing, and maintenance.

I’m going to make the most of my life.
I’m going to do the best I can.
I’m going to stay in a healthy mind, body and spirit for the rest of my life.
I’m going to focus on the present and the future.

In the end, we all have to take responsibility for ourselves, and be our own person. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. The trick is to recognize them, then create the right life for yourself, and not feel pressured to fit in with everybody else’s expectations.

Even if you don’t fully put his entire system to use, the more time you allocate to each part of your time management system, the better you are at managing it.

I’ve had this feeling a while back, that the world is going to end in fire, and a dragon shall rise from the flames.

I would strongly advise him to stay home, to get away from all of this
madness.

I’m a little sad to see that it’s taken so long for them
to figure that out, but I’m very happy that it’s not a
curse, in the sense that they’re no longer having to deal with
that shit.

The point is, in the old days, there were very clear lines. If you were a Jew, you had your own religious laws. If you were Christian, you had your own religious laws. The world was much more black and white, and much less complicated.

Well it was an interesting episode and a nice way to end the season, but not entirely original…

In other news, the U.S. Senate has approved the Federal Bureau of
Investigation’s request for expanded powers to investigate domestic
terrorism.
The Senate approved the bill by a vote of 90-1.

I just made this comment so you can get free points in the game. I don’t really have any influence in the game, I just happen to be in a really good place right now and I really want you to do this thing so I can say that I did it.

The only time I’ve found Google to generate decent results
is when you use it as a search engine rather than as a
knowledge base.

2. Eat That Frog! by Brian Tracy

In other words, the hardest thing you can do to massively increase your productivity is to start with the biggest tasks which are often the most boring…

I’m glad we found the frog. We don’t have to eat it.

And so, we have now successfully extracted the French tree from its tree of trees.

I love it when people help us with our systems, and this book is a perfect example of just that. It’s a quick and easy read that will help you get started on 21 simple steps that will move you towards your goals.

It is important to start and begin working on a project before one even gets to the harder part of the project. Once one starts working on something, they are more likely to be more motivated to continue on and work on the project.

3. The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life & Business by Charles Duhigg

He takes a journalistic approach to this book, taking a reporter’s approach to finding articles about how habits are developed, why they exist, and if they can be changed.

One of the reasons I really love this book is the fact that it lays out a really good framework for doing habits. There are also loads of resources that you can use for additional practice and learning.

If you understand what you are doing, you can avoid making the same mistake again.

This is a very easy rule to understand. It is just a matter of changing the way you do something. For example, I never used to eat chocolate chips. One day, I changed my habit. From that point on, I have always been eating chocolate chips, and they are a regular part of my diet.

4. The ONE Thing: The Surprisingly Simple Truth Behind Extraordinary Results by Gary Keller

what the hell is happiness?

And she helps you get there through a series of stories and case studies which help us understand what makes us tick.

Once you have a handle on what you are passionate about, you’ll find that this is what you will do. It will be hard to get started, and you may need to create a list of reasons why you want to work on it in the first place.
The biggest reason to do this is motivation.

The one thing is to be able to say to yourself, “My mind is in a place where I’m ready.” That doesn’t mean your life is perfect, but you’re able to handle a lot more stress and put a lot more things in perspective.

I’ve had this feeling a while back, that the world is going to end in fire, and a dragon shall rise from the flames.

I would strongly advise him to stay home, to get away from all of this

You can’t have an effective to-do list. It will get stale and you will not get things done.
Instead, you need a success checklist–a list that is purposely created around extraordinary results.
You can have the best intentions in the world, but the results will still fail if you don’t have a success checklist.
Here’s what you need to do.

5. The Power of Full Engagement by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz

In order to gain more energy and power, you need to find out what really matters to you. You need to really care about it. You can make it the most important thing to you at work. At school. At home. In your relationship. In your family. The world is a tough place, and there are more distractions that can be difficult to conquer but if you find what it is that truly matters to you, and then invest your time and energy around that, you don’t have to stress.

This book lays out a system for going beyond the usual and predictable. It’s about creating rituals that will recharge lost energy. So that anything you approach, you are fully committed to and in the zone.

I’ve had this feeling a while back, that the world is going to end in fire, and a dragon shall rise from the flames.

The true nature of success depends on the alignment of all our faculties and we are always in process and evolving into higher states of consciousness, so there should be no one size fits all formula for success.

6. The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte

Many people find it difficult to know what they want to do because they are not sure what will make them happy and fulfilled.

Most people don’t want to take the time to think about what they really want, and instead have their lives determined for them by other people.

Danielle LaPorte says this is the only book you need to get your life back on track! It’s not a typical self-help book. It features actual workbooks where you’ll find a one-page plan for each day in your planner.

I’ve had this feeling a while back, that the world is going to end in fire, and a dragon shall rise from the flames.

I would strongly advise him to stay home, to get away from all of this

Clarity is a feeling. It is a knowing. Know-ing is the most powerful thing in the world.

7. Zen To Done: The Ultimate Simple Productivity System by Leo Babauta

In Zen To Done, Leo Babauta offers a condensed and hybrid version of the productivity systems that worked for him (like Getting Things Done), and he offers a new twist to it.

This book is great for taking away all the ‘noise’ that you may find in other productivity books and provides you just the basics to help you simplify your life.

If you want to become a fitness fanatic and have an easy, yet effective, system to get you started, this is the book for you. This book is a quick and dirty primer for the easiest system to get started that is still incredibly effective.

I’ve had this feeling a while back, that the world is going to end in fire, and a dragon shall rise from the flames.

I would strongly advise him to stay home, to get away from all of this

“Focus on your Big Rocks and stop focusing on your small rocks. They will help you if you do them once, but once is all they will give you. ‘No rock is too small’.

8. 18 Minutes: Find Your Focus, Master Distraction, and Get the Right Things Done by Peter Bregman

This book is a compilation of Bregman’s insights from the columns he wrote for Harvard Business Review and includes some new thoughts and a couple of case studies.

If you follow a system like his, you can get things done, but you might not realize why you’re doing it. So this book is about using systems to help you master the distractions in your life and then get things done.

My schedule is pretty hectic right now. This is something that I’ve seen work really well for people.

In both cases, the systems are very clearly spelled out.

I’ve had this feeling a while back, that the world is going to end in fire, and a dragon shall rise from the flames.

I would strongly advise him to stay home, to get away from all of this

When choosing what to ignore, there are some that get more important than others.
