12 Things Holding You Back From Achieving Success

The biggest factor that can hold you back from achieving success is yourself.

Things that can make a person miss out on success that are either out of their hands or at least not something that they should be worried about. Some of these things are simple things that are done by everybody but some are a lot more complex and require hard work to accomplish.

12 Things Holding You Back from Achieving Success

When you get down on yourself for not being better than someone else or for not being good enough, you might be sabotaging your success in life. The truth is, the most successful people in every industry have the same thing in common. They all had the same struggles, challenges, and setbacks that they faced.

1. You Fear What People Think

You’ve got to take out all the obstacles in your way, you have to do what you think is right for you and you’ve got to take the leap. But first you should know you may have to change your plans if you find out you’re wrong.

Maybe you have friends who would think you’re mad to do something so different to what some of your friends think is ‘cool’, or you might be embarrassed sharing your new business with some of the people you used to hang out with.

You are not to blame for the people who will not be your people. You do not have to take up space on the bandwagon of people who choose to be your enemies, which is what you are now, as they are not your people. If they choose to be your enemy, you should not wish them to. You should not wish for peace.

2. You’ve Become Comfortable With the Uncomfortable

The people with low standards and low ambitions often find themselves getting stuck in bad jobs, and ending up having a really negative impact on others.

(b) A better is not necessarily a car. It can be anything that makes you feel better than you do now. It doesn’t have to be better than the old one, or the previous one or the one before that. It can be better than your current state.

This is a perfectly fine car and I’m not being rude because it’s uncomfortable. If anything, I’m being rude because my mind is uncomfortable.

3. You Have No Discipline

When I was at school I didn’t bother studying and learnt nothing. I would get home, grab a can of coke at switch on and then spend the time playing games and watching TV. This was a huge mistake as it meant I didn’t learn anything at school. I should have done my homework at school.

The same in business, if you don’t have the discipline to accept the boring moments that are guaranteed to come your way at one point or other, you won’t be able to make it very far.

You sound like you are trying to help.

4. You’re Afraid of Change

Some people are scared that the change will be too hard for them to handle, but it’s important to push through the change you want. Remember that you need to be able to handle the change eventually.

The key to change is to know when something no longer serves you and to have the courage to change it. There are 2 kinds of people in the world, those who never change their minds and those who have the courage to change.

5. You Have Great Ideas that You Don’t Put to Action

I feel like I sometimes need to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into taking ACTION before I even have time to think about the why and how and WHEN of what I’m going to do.

Having a good idea in your head is wonderful and if you have a good vision of where you want to go then you know exactly what you need to do to get there. However, you won’t stay in your vision long; it needs constant attention to keep it alive and growing.

Well, because I have no idea what it takes to make money, and I don’t have any business background or experience. I don’t know how to go about starting my own business. I guess I could do things the old fashioned way, but I think that would just take a lot of time. So, I’m trying to figure out what I can do that will bring in revenue.

6. You’re Easily Distracted

Some people who get distracted are always waiting for something to happen. For example, you know the kid who is always waiting for the next game to start. You know the one who is still waiting for his mail to come in at work and so on. And like I said before, those people will not have any discipline and they will make no progress.

Focus your attention on the task at hand without having to deal with the numerous external distractions, or your subconscious mind will get involved and try to get you off track.

7. You Lack Creativity

I know how this can be tough to do but it’s not a skill that needs to be mastered, it’s a skill that needs to be improved. So what I will tell you to do is find ways to improve your creativity, instead of just accepting it as part of who you are.

Think of how many times you’ve found yourself watching a TV show, or even reading a book, and suddenly an idea for a novel has appeared in your head.
All of us are creative. And we all have the potential to create our very own novel.
You just need to find a way to unlock your creative thinking.

When you’re stuck with ideas in your niche and you just want to come up with something on the go, then just get out of your own head and start researching. Then you’ll start realizing that you don’t know everything, but you know some good things for something. You’ll see that the internet is filled with great resources to draw inspiration from.

You can use those resources to find out new things about the thing that you’re writing about in your niche. You’ll find that this will inspire you to keep exploring and learning about it.

Creative people all over the world have experienced the benefits of being able to have a bit of a break. Some people find that being able to work from home, some people find that working while away from family, some people find that having a bit of a break for two weeks to go on holiday, or just take a weekend to do a little bit of work, is really helpful.
There’s always going to be something that creativity is about – it’s just that for some people, thinking about something else means being able to come up with the next idea at any time.

8. You’re Not an Early Bird

I was pretty happy when my friend introduced me to this app. It’s really simple to use and I really like the features that it offers. I can make the most out of my day by setting alarms using the app. I can have my work emails in the calendar, so I can work more efficiently and be more productive.

One of the first things I had to do after getting up early was to get up and get ready for work. I’m not used to waking up at 5am, and it’s something I’m still trying to get used to.

If you want to start waking up at 6:00 in the morning, then that’s what you should be doing, but only if it makes you feel happy. It doesn’t hurt, but you don’t want to do it unless you truly want to do it. If a 6:00 am start really is going to make you feel happy, then I would say go for it.

You’re right – so many things that I do are just habit.

9. You Let Failure Cripple You

In the eyes of the customer, you are judged based on the project that you have accomplished. If you’re the one who failed, your reputation is tarnished. It could have been avoided.

Failures happen and it’s not easy to recover from them, but you know what? You’ll learn, and by doing that you’ll probably try again to do things differently. This is how you will achieve your goals.
That’s why failures are necessary.

10. You’re Too Impatient

Weâ€(tm)ve already reached a level of success where we can afford to be patient with our growth. The fact that we have time on our side means we don’t have to do things the old way. We don’t need to chase after as many clients nor do we have to constantly grow the business. This allows us to focus on what is most important.

It is very easy to get caught up in how much you have to do and how long it is taking you to do it. But if you have a sense of urgency, it can lead to a great amount of stress and frustration. So it is a good idea to make sure you are not trying to get too much done in too short a time. But if you allow yourself the time you will know you need to do it, it will come off a lot more smoothly.

11. You’re Motivated too Much by Money & Not by Passion

This is not to say that money is bad. It’s not. But if you have goals in life that you don’t feel passionate about, it’s much harder to reach them and get the success you want.

You should understand the significance of love. It’s easy to love money, but it’s hard to love your business. Money is a motivator, but the love for your business comes with it. It’s a love that will help you to make changes in your life. The love that you feel for your business will keep you motivated; the love you have for the subject will keep you happy with it.

12. You Haven’t Found What You Were Born to do

A good business has to be something you really enjoy doing. This will make you a more efficient worker, and you’ll have a more enjoyable life. You’re not stuck in a job that you hate and are just going through the motions.

It takes time to find the one thing that’s perfect for you. But don’t let that prevent you from getting started. As long as you’re focusing on working towards one thing, you’ll soon know whether it’s right for you or not.
