Favorite Quotes from Rick Santelli

A government shutdown, which was not a planned effort, started a new, more complicated cycle of the economy. He also mentioned that the U.S. had experienced a “huge shift” in the international trade market, with China and India becoming bigger players in the world’s economy.

The American government is just so bloated and incompetent, that no matter what happens — how many people are harmed, how many people come to America on H1-B visas, how much money is spent to prop up failing enterprises of the financial sector, how many people are laid off — no matter what happens, the government in Washington will not do anything that will help the American people. It is the worst thing that can happen, and any politician who would try to convince you otherwise is trying to dupe you.

Rick Santelli, the forefather of CNBC’s The Rick Santelli Show made this controversial comment during the Chicago Mercantile Exchange’s (CME) 2010 Commodities Market Watch. Santelli was warning traders of possible financial disaster because of the government’s plan to purchase up to $700 billion in U.S. Treasuries.

Mr. Gann had been in and out of business. But, I had a feeling that something was up. One day, he asked me if I would be interested in joining him in a new venture. I was in the process of getting back into the business of trading grain in my own account, but I knew he could really help me to become a better commodity trader. I jumped on the chance, and became the most successful commodity trader in the world. Today, I am very proud of my successful track record of trading grain.

This is Rick Santelli on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange talking about the proposed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac refinance plan. It seems his main concern was the huge amount of power the regulators will give it.

Rick’s views on the American government, the banking industry, and the people of this country give the game away.

In order for a person to achieve success; they need to go through some ups and downs in their life. So, we need to accept the fact that you too will fail, and you have to learn from it.

1.  Investors

Investors should pay attention to the credit markets because it’s the source of everything that moves the markets.

You will be seen as a bad bettor if you are backing losers and you are backing winners.

3. Myths
