 Nick Rotteveel was born in Amerongen, Netherlands, on the 6th of January, 1989.

He joined the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and became a private pilot at the age of 19. After working as a mechanic in the UK and Canada, he joined the Dutch Air Force.
