Early Life
While Kenny Rogers’ father was a carpenter and his mother was a nurse, Kenny’s grandfather was a bricklayer and his grandmother was a housewife. Rogers was raised in a very strict family and was not allowed to watch television or listen to music until he was 10 years old. In his early teens, he started playing guitar and wrote songs about local events like the oil bust.
